Alejandra Oraa is a seven-time Daytime and News Emmy award winning anchor and journalist for CNN en Español. Blending intelligence, charisma, and relentless positivity, she became the youngest anchor in the history of CNN at the age of 23. She is currently the host of two shows for CNN en Español: Café CNN, a morning news program, and Destinos, a travel and adventure show.
Alejandra has won a total of seven consecutive Emmy awards, an achievement no talent in hispanic television has yet to do. She has been credited as both anchor and writer (One for Café CNN and two for Destinos), and recently received the Emmy for "Outstanding Talent" in a Spanish Language Program, where she is also credited as a writer.
In addition to her passion as a journalist and communicator, Alejandra serves as a Good Will Ambassador for the United Nations Program HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). She promotes awareness in Latin American and the Caribbean of HIV-related human rights issues among women and youth. She also has focused on the migration crisis of the venezuelan community, along with ACNUR, United Nation's agency for the refugees.
She might be young but her career started over 14 years ago, when she was 17 years old and became a reporter for “Pepsi Música” in Telefutura Network. A year later she moved on to TV Azteca and Fox Sports en Español. as a reporter Alejandra also has experience on radio shows. In 2009 she was a radio host in Miami for one of the city’s top Spanish-language radio stations: Romance 106.7FM.
Born in Vargas, Venezuela, Alejandra Oraa has a Bachelor's of Arts in Communications from St. Thomas University. She is fluent in Spanish and English and is currently based in Miami, Florida.
